Like how many Alternative bands started, The Dambuilders was still raw and punkily aggressive on this EP that was released prior to their first major album,
Encendedor. “Dose” and “Louisiana” remind me of Jane’s Addiction or Pixies at their most angst-ridden.
However, the poppish leanings of The Dambuilders can already be heard on “Idaho“ and my favorite “Candy Guts.” In fact, “Idaho” was included in
Encendedor.
